Speaking Engagements

Marianne Jennings gave her first professional speech in 1979 at a breakfast meeting for some Lions, or was it Elk? Well, it was some animal group, and she was a last-minute substitution for a colleague who couldn’t make the den or covey, or whatever-it-was meeting at the last minute. She was a filler and a substitute speaker for about two speeches. Then the animals began calling her as their first choice.

While she still enjoys that interaction with the fauna of the philanthropic world, she has also branched out to professional groups, corporations, trade organizations, colleges and universities, and even the beauty shop owners of the world. She was a bit nervous about how her hair looked for the last group, but, other than that, she holds up well in front of an audience.

She has been everything from a key note speaker to an all-day trainer to a roaster extraordinaire. She can do 10 minutes or she can do a semester. You can take the professor out of the classroom, but you can’t take the yearning to teach and talk out of the professor.
